GLASS BEAD MAKING

Beginning Bead Making
Experience the art of turning molten glass into beautiful beads. You will learn the basics, including mandrel preparation and use of marvering tools to shape beads. Expect to finish several beads in this three-hour class. Arrive on time for important safety information, equipment and tool usage. Wear cotton clothing and closed toe shoes. Continuing Bead Making
Have you taken the beginning bead making class but don't feel ready for the advanced class? Do you want some time with an instructor to be able to ask questions and practice what you've already learned? Wear cotton clothing and closed toe shoes. You must be at least 18 years old to take this class and have completed beginning glass bead making, or have equivalent experience. Date: By appointment Cost: $95 + extra materials Class Size: 6

Advanced Bead Making
Learn about foils and dichroic glass, hollow beads and other unique techniques. This class for the intermediate bead maker. Prior bead-making experience is required. You must be 18 years old and already have completed our beginning glass bead making class, or have equivalent experience. Wear cotton clothing and closed toe shoes. Two-day class. MURINI

Torch Murini
Have you ever dreamt about combining the intricate details of palmer clay inlay with a hot glass process? Murini are formed on the torch to complement your glass bead making. Different glasses will be explored. Previous lampworking experience. You must be 18 years. Wear cotton clothing and closed toe shoes Three-day class. Murini for Fusing
Murini are fused, shaped in the glory hole, annealed and sliced. They can be used to compliment bead making, stand alone jewelry or incorporated into fusing projects. Different glasses will be explored. Previous glass experience recommended. You must be 18 years. Wear cotton clothing and closed toe shoes Three-day class. Glass fusing is easy to learn, but the result is gorgeous! You will learn the basic principles of glass cutting and fusing in this one-day workshop as you design and prepare small pieces for fusing. Glass Fusing Beg/Adv
You can easily transform flat pieces of glass into beautiful jewelry, picture frames, bowls, plates or other decorative pieces using a kiln to melt, or fuse, the glass together. You can expect to finish several projects. Beginners and experienced folks are both welcome. You must be at least 18 years old to take this class. Three-day class. Date: Mondays or Wednesdays or Weekends by appointment Cost: $160 + materials Class Size: 8

Combo Fusing
Combo Fusing: Torch components combined with other precious metals, lusters, mica, dichroic and other items to create a truly gorgeous one of a kind art glass piece. Raking to manipulate hot glass. Glass Fusing for Quilt Makers
Make a single glass quilt square with your quilting buddies. You will learn the basic principles of glass cutting and fusing in this 3-hour class as you design and prepare small pieces for fusing. Mold Making & Glass Casting

Parent/Teen Fusing

JEWELRY

Lost Wax Casting
Explore working with wax, using various techniques to create original pieces of jewelry. Students will learn to cast each of their creations using the lost wax casting method. Time: by appointment Cost: $300 + materials Class Size: 8

Lapidary Workshop
Learn to take a rock from its rough and natural state to a polished stone ready to be used in any number of fine art projects and jewelry pieces. Each session will be one-on-one with the instructor. Date: By appointment Cost: $90 Class Size: 1

Dichroic Jewelry
Each student will create FIVE uniquely different dichroic glass jewelry pieces including three different types of pendant beads. Students will learn how to design their creations using a production method and will also learn glass-cutting techniques. Students will also learn about finishing skills to complete their jewelry pieces. Date: By appointment Cost: $90 Class Size: 6

You make glass beads now what?
Explore the mysteries of bead stringing, clasp fabrication, making hand-made earring hooks and more. Creative design concepts will also be covered. Bring your lamp worked beads to string. Date and Time: by appointment Cost: $140 + materials Class Size: 8

Introduction to Indian Jewelry Fabrication
Students will be introduced to shop safety precautions and familiarization with jewelry making tools. The students will learn hand stamping Indian designs, sawing, filing, soldering, bezel setting stones and polishing silver and stones. The class goal will be to complete two projects. Chain Making
Learn the elegant art of chain making using jump rings and pliers. This craft can be appreciated for many uses-compliment to beadwork or stand alone jewelry. In this introductory class, we will start by exploring basic jump ring techniques. Then, we will use new skills to create a beautiful Byzantine bracelet. Team Building
Bring your office in to Design with Fire to experience team building with glass. DWF will work with you to design a project to fit your office needs, and glass experience. The project and the experience is up to you. Date and Time: To be scheduled Cost: $50 per person for 3 hours of team building. minimum of 6 persons

Design your own Class
Bring your friends in to Design with Fire for a party. DWF will work with you to design a glass party to fit your occasion and glass experience of your guests. The project and the experience is up to you. Date and Time: To be scheduled Cost: Dependent on class designed

Open Warm Glass Studio with Supervision
Have you taken fusing or bead making classes? Practice what you've already learned at the studio. You must be 18 years old. Wear cotton clothing and closed toe shoes. Time: Mondays, 1-6 pm or by appointment Cost: $13 per hour + materials (no instruction)

Glass Blowing Workshops
Learn the seductive and ancient art of glass blowing! Turning a hot liquid into a solid physical form is magical. Fire River Art Glass has glass blowing workshops three weekends a month. Glass Blowing Classes
Single day classes are now available. This class is great for those interested in sampling hot glass or to perfect a new technique. This 1-day class is the way to experience the wonderful world of glass blowing. The cost is $200 per person. A maximum of four students per class.

Studio Rental and Private Glass Blowing Instruction
Studio rental is $325 per day without instruction. Studio rental is subject to availability. Rental includes annealer and basic tools (hand tools, paddles, blocks, pipes and punties). No colored glass will be provided. Private glass blowing instruction is $400 per day.
